I’m Rebecca Laxton-Gilbertson, MSW, RSW — a clinical social worker, school social worker, and the heart behind Fierce. Informed. Unstoppable. I hold a Master of Social Work and have spent more than a decade supporting children with ADHD, Autism, Learning Disabilities, anxiety, and emotional or behavioural challenges across schools, mental health agencies, and private practice.
In my role as a School Social Worker, I’ve sat in countless meetings with parents who felt overwhelmed, dismissed, or unsure of how to advocate for their child. I’ve worked alongside teachers, principals, psychologists, and multidisciplinary teams to make sure children get the support they need — and I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is when a parent has the right tools and language to confidently speak up for their child.
But my expertise isn’t just professional. I’m also a mom of two incredible neurodivergent kids, a cheer mom, a baseball mom, and a wife of 16 years. I know what it feels like to navigate diagnoses, big emotions, school challenges, and the constant pressure to “explain” your child to people who don’t understand them. I know the fierce love, the fear, the frustration — and the determination to keep going even when the system feels impossible.
This blend of clinical training and lived experience is what shapes everything I create. I believe deeply that behaviour is communication, not defiance, and that children thrive when the adults around them understand their brains, advocate for their needs, and respond with compassion instead of judgment.
I built Fierce. Informed. Unstoppable. to give parents exactly what I wish I had years ago: clear explanations, practical tools, scripts that work, and steady support during the moments when you need it most.
If you’re here, you want to understand your child more deeply, advocate with confidence, and feel supported instead of overwhelmed. I’m here to walk beside you — with knowledge, compassion, and a belief in your child that never wavers.
Fierce. Informed. Unstoppable.
It’s more than a brand — it’s a way of showing up for your child, and I’m honoured to guide you through it.
About Me

My Mission, Vision & Values
VISION
To empower every parent of a neurodivergent child to become confident, supported, and unstoppable in advocating for their child’s needs.
I envision a world where parents understand their child’s brain, communicate effectively with schools, and protect their child’s dignity and emotional well-being. When a parent feels fierce, informed, and unstoppable, everything changes for their child.
MISSION
My mission is to give parents the knowledge, tools, and confidence you need to advocate boldly and compassionately.
I turn overwhelm into clarity, confusion into strategy, and isolation into empowerment. Through education, emotional support, and practical guidance, I help parents understand their child’s neurodivergence, navigate school systems, and create supportive home environments.
I exist so no parent walks this path alone — and every child has someone in their corner who knows exactly how to fight for what they need.
VALUES
Compassion
I lead with empathy, understanding, and zero judgment. Behaviour is communication.
Strength in Advocacy
I teach parents to advocate clearly, respectfully, and effectively.
Neurodiversity-Affirming
I honour each child’s unique wiring. I support difference — I don’t try to “fix” it.
Practical, Evidence-Informed Support
I turn science into tools that work in real homes and real schools.
Empowerment Through Knowledge
When parents understand their child, they become unstoppable advocates.
Collaboration
No parent should feel alone. I build connection and shared understanding.
Dignity & Emotional Safety
Every child deserves to feel respected, valued, and safe.
Growth Over Perfection
Progress is celebrated. Small steps lead to big change.

Rebecca’s webinars changed everything for us. For the first time, I understood my child’s behaviour through a neurodiversity lens instead of blame and frustration. The strategies were practical, compassionate, and immediately usable. I walked away feeling empowered instead of overwhelmed.

I used Rebecca’s scripts and support for our school meeting and it was the FIRST time I felt heard. I knew exactly what to ask for, how to advocate, and how to push back respectfully when needed. We finally have accommodations that actually match my child’s needs. Her 1:1 email support was a lifeline.

The Fierce. Informed. Unstoppable. sessions gave me more clarity in a few hours than years of Googling and guesswork. Rebecca has a way of explaining neurodivergence that makes everything click. I left with confidence, language, and a direction for our family.

Rebecca’s guidance came at a time when we felt completely lost. Her email support was so validating and thoughtful — she helped us understand our child and ourselves with such compassion. It felt like someone finally saw the whole picture. We’re a calmer family because of her.

I can’t explain the relief I felt after the 3 webinar series. For the first time, I wasn’t blaming myself. I wasn’t blaming my child. Rebecca gave us a roadmap, language to use with teachers, and strategies that actually work. I didn’t feel alone anymore — I felt equipped.

Before working with Rebecca, I didn’t know where to start — I was scared of saying the wrong thing in meetings. Now I walk in with a plan, clear goals, and confidence. Her support made me the advocate my child needed, and I am forever grateful.
